Discover Our Story

Nestled in a quiet corner of Taman Melawati, Miss Ellie Tea House opened its doors on December 18th, 2012, bringing a new dining experience to the neighborhood. Blending classic design with a homely feel, it became the perfect spot for unwinding and indulging in delectable comforting meals prepared with love. Despite being one of the oldest establishments of its kind in this township, it remains a favourite place to catch up with friends, spend family time, host visitors, or simply enjoy a quiet moment.

A Walk Through Our History

The inspiring story of Miss Ellie Tea House began with Justin’s father, the late Lt. Col. (R) Wong Yeng Kee, who envisioned a quaint retreat for friends and neighbors to gather and fellowship. Although he unfortunately passed before realizing this dream, Justin and his mother, Nancy, decided to continue his legacy, and in 2012 they opened Miss Ellie Tea House. The name pays tribute to another departed family member, their beloved pet poodle, Ellie, who had always brought the family so much joy. Their memories live on through the tea house, which continues to serve the community as a space for people to gather and make memories of their own.
